The WWF’s “Act For Our Future” for climate change
By Laurie Posted on October 23rd, 2009 in Environment, Featured, ScienceOur friends over at the World Wildlife Fund recently contacted us and wanted to spread the word on their new “Act For Our Future” campaign, driven to encourage the United States Senate to act upon climate legislation.Their campaign combines online media broadcasting with television, focused on spreading the word to Americans to contact their Senators, asking them to vote “yes” on climate legislation.
They hope to make a big impact, and we’re more than happy to help spread the word. Unfortunately, climate change is a huge matter – and getting bigger by the day.
But the WWF’s aim has been one that they’ve been behind for over twenty years. Our planet – along with wildlife and ourselves – is threatened, and we need to do something about it.
To slow climate change we need to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. And we can easily help make the change.
The WWF’s call to the Senators is just the beginning – they hope to reduce emissions to a minimum of 80% below 1990 levels by 2050.
But that’s not it – we want to spread the word on their their new video endeavour! The World Wildlife Fund recently launched broadcast television ads in five states represented by swing-vote Senators, with an aim to influence climate change.
