Apple offers recycling program for schools
By Laurie Posted on May 13th, 2009 in Latest News, TechnologyAs the school year wraps up and Spring cleaning is underway, Apple is offering an incentive to help schools recycle their old computers for free, clearing out the clutter for next year.
It doesn’t have to just be a Mac, either. Apple is willing to accept their own, along with PCs, peripherals, fax
machines, copy machines, VCRs, and more. Their recycling plan requires no purchase and is open to all accredited schools, including higher education.
The only rules? There have to be at least twenty-five pieces, it has to be done before the summer, and equipment must be packaged according to their outlined instructions.
The offer expires July 31st, and the packages must be collected by the end of August – but perfect timing, regardless, to make way for the new school year. A great offer from Apple; although only available in the US.

Good on you Apple! Their true altruism is a real example for the rest of the computer manufactures to follow. Now if only they could expand it to the rest of the world.

Unfortunately not available outside of the states, I see. How frustrating – such a good initiative but not really for anyone elsewhere. Maybe next year? We can only hope.

Good for Apple to spread out past just Macs. Nice to see they are willing to do PCs and whatnot.

Great idea, the perfect end of the year desk clean.
