Quirky t-shirts that have a message behind them are our favourite kind – but ones made or organic and sustainable materials? Even better.

The combined minds of Brooks Fuentes and Noel Javier came together to share their creativity oh-buggy-ouch-teewith the world. With a BA in photography and graphic design experience (Noel), and a fashion and design-driven mind (Brooks), the two began to formulate an original, organic t-shirt line soon dubbed Oh Buggy.

We’ve had the opportunity to review and highlight an Oh Buggy tee, and we have to admit, it’s hard not to love them.

The 100% organic cotton men’s tee-shirt is extremely comfortable and soft to the touch, hanging comfortably with movement in all the right places. We love slim, but casual fit, and the added length at the bottom – perfect for those with long torsos or to cover unsightly visuals from pants hanging a little low. The shirt is a durably thick cotton; you know it’ll stay in tact for the long haul.

The tee is adorned with an owl, arm casted and in a sling, looking a little melancholy (and, we have to be honest, it makes you just really want to do something about it). Drawn on with low-impact dye, the monochromatic charcoal gray is topped with a simple black design, keeping it minimalist with a message.

We love that Oh Buggy uses 100% organic cotton, which we all know has a lower impact on the environment. This is because of the lack of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, which in turn, benefits the soil, water ways, and animals.

But that isn’t all that keeps Oh Buggy eco-friendly. They also are big believers in keeping their everyday lives sustainable, such from using renewable energy to driving a scooter (check out their green links for their favourite resources).

They also shipped their shirt in an envelope padded with recycled paper. Nothing more.

But it doesn’t end there; 1% of their profits go to local eco-organizations, too. And you won’t see a sweatshop in sight: these shirts hail from A.S. Tees, a union-based company made with  organic cotton both grown, then assembled, in the USA.

Brooks and Noel claim that they “hope people can see the goodness of [their] designs.”

Well, Brooks and Noel? We sure do.
