The National Hockey League reported on Friday that Reebok announced that the t-shirts worn by the 2009 Stanley Cup Champions post-win will be made from organic cotton.
As reported by the NHL, “Reebok and the NHL are showcasing the eco-friendly
Stanley Cup Championship tee at the 2009 NHL Stanley Cup Final to raise awareness about environmentally-conscious alternatives,” said John McMahon, Director of Marketing for Reebok Sports Licensed Division. “Reebok recognizes the importance of environmentally responsible business practices and as a company we are always looking at new technologies and innovative opportunities to incorporate sustainable products to our brand. ”
These 100% organic cotton tees also include recycled material hang tags and new green stitching.
They are available to purchase at select stores, Reebok.com, and Shop.NHL.com after the win.
“We applaud Reebok for taking this important next step with us to offer NHL fans a more eco-conscious product,” Jim Haskins, NHL Vice President of Consumer Products noted.
So are we, Jim. So are we.

Shouldn’t they be making an eco-line or something like it, as opposed to just one shirt that won’t even last much past this year? Sigh.

Well done Reebok and NHL! And go Red Wings!

I know! I’m sorry bugsy, you’re absolutely right, but it was difficult to find one that I was able to use – in addition, I’ve no live ones myself
Sorry hockey fans!
