The author of this article obviously haven’t used a Palm Pre. I know because there is NO SUPPORT FOR GOOGLE PUBLIC TRANSIT AT THIS TIME. The app, which can’t be removed and does not support G.P.T., automatically loads when you go to google’s web site preventing access to GPT entirely. I’ve spoken with Sprint’s Advanced Tech Support and they are aware of the issue but have not been able to say if / when it should be working. I even tried loading the PalmOS version of Google Maps Mobile inside Classic (a PalmOS emulator) and while the app loaded, it was unable to read GPS Data and crashed when I asked it for directions. If anyone knows of a workaround (alternate website, an app, a way to remove the WebOS Google Maps App, etc I would love to see it posted here.)

Some good points here for sure… Mobile work forces are really helping to cut down on congestion. Here in Seattle I know a lot of people that do not commute anymore, and its easier then ever to take public transit for a break during the day and not have to lug around a massive laptop etc.
