New eco-friendly Sprint phone
By Laurie Posted on August 20th, 2009 in Featured, Health, Technology, gadgetsSprint Nextel has recently launched their latest mobile phone. The Samsung Reclaim is the newest in eco-friendly cell phones; in this case, derived partly from corn.
According to the company, the Reclaim is manufactured with 80 percent recyclable
materials, the highest in the industry. The outside packaging is derived from 70 percent recycled materials and printed materials, such as the warranty information, use soy-based ink.
The Reclaim, unlike most run-of-the-mill green phones, offers more, with e-mail, texting, camera options, and a keyboard button for green-themed Internet sites.
Set to launch August 16th, the Reclaim – available in ocean blue or earth green -is priced at less than $50 with a two-year service agreement. $2 of the proceeds are donated to the Nature Conservancy’s Adopt an Acre program.
Sprint tied Thursday’s announcement to several other green initiatives that will affect the Overland Park campus and facilities nationwide.
