We recently told you about the Greener Gadgets Show that occurred in late February. Although each finalist produced an eclectic-eco loving gadget, four came out on top – with many others close on their heels
The Tweet-a-Watt captured first place. The crew modified a Kill-a-Watt (TM) to “tweet” the daily kilowatts used to the user’s Twitter account. What’s different about the winner’s is their product isn’t to buy – instead, they have published a “how-to” so anyone can make and mod them.

With 1078 votes, the Power-Hog hogged second place. (It was in the top contenders during the voting, and clearly a popular choice). Designed to associate power conservation with savings, Power-Hog is a kid-geared piggy bank that metres consumption and alerts the user when time is coming to an end.

With 523 votes, third place was hung to dry with the Indoor Drying Rack. A replacement for an energy-draining clothes dryer, or an alternative to clotheslines, this bamboo laminate and recycled aluminum is naturally hypoallergenic, and resists mold and mildew. It almost makes you wonder why this hasn’t been developed before.

With 243 votes, the Laundry Pod was awash with success. The designers took the idea of a salad spinner, to create a hand-powered machine to do small loads of laundry quick and easily. Comments suggest it as a perfect solution for camping and other trips, and it is great way to take special care of you dedicates.
