Tofudisan, on July 24th, 2009 says:
Years ago I bought an aluminum bottle, like these, to serve as my water bottle for camping and canoeing trips (and then office of course). The bottles were supposed to be fuel bottles and people scoffed at my intending to use it for water. But I knew it was perfect as a reusable water bottle. The loop in the cap makes it easy to attach a D-Ring and then snap it to my backpack. Who knew I was so cutting edge back then?
I still have my orange “water fuel” bottle to this day. It shows all the scars from multiple trips into back country and unfortunately the plastic cap’s threads are worn down so it doesn’t seal as tightly as before. But it still works!
